It is designed to provide students in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields with meaningful, hands-on experience within Michigan.

The Role

ITHAKA is seeking a Data Intelligence Intern to join our Data Intelligence team in the summer of 2025. As a Data Intelligence Intern at ITHAKA, you’ll have a bird’s-eye view, working across all of the organization’s business units to assist with the development of data governance documentation, data analytics, data modeling, and processing. You’ll also help to evaluate ITHAKA’s potential investment in new areas aligned with our mission by modeling new business opportunities. This is a terrific learning and growth opportunity for an intern with strong skills to join a small, dynamic, collaborative, and engaging team where you’ll work closely with senior analysts.

This internship spans a period of 12 weeks, beginning on June 2, 2025. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a connection to Michigan. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building our data model, including building Databricks workflows that create industry-standard data products.
  • Document our data products to improve the accuracy and value of information provided by AI tools available to stakeholders and contributors.
  • Assist with building Tableau workbooks.
  • Participate in team projects and share ideas. 
  • Partner with the Data Literacy team to improve data product discovery.

Experience and Skills

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in data science, computer engineering, mathematics, information systems, business analytics, business intelligence, or applied statistics
  • Proficiency in Spark SQL and version control tools like Gitlab and Github
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Databricks, and Tableau (or similar platforms) for data analysis, visualization, and insights generation
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Constant desire to learn and improve skills
  • Able to convey complicated data concepts verbally and in writing
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable solutions
